Candidate Telephone Interview Tips
Telephone interviews - Some useful hints and tips
- Ask your Consultant to have the client call you if at all possible
- Provide the client with more than 1 number if possible
- Ask the Consultant to request the client, if you can have their number in order for you to call them, if the arranged call has not occurred within 15 minutes of the agreed time
- Call your Consultant if the no telephone interview has occurred within 15 minutes of the agreed time
- Prepare with research into the client, evaluating the job description against their own skills and achievements and preparing interview questions. Utilise the interview pack issued by your Consultant.
- Have a copy of your CV and the job description printed off and with you, ready for when the call comes in. It will be far easier to navigate around the job requirements in conjunction to your career history, if you have your CV in front of you.
- Have at least 5 good questions prepared
- Make sure that your battery is fully charged on your mobile phone and that you are somewhere that has a decent reception/signal
- You should stress your interest and to ask for a face to face meeting
- Polish your shoes..!
