Stephen Peerless

During his career he progressed into various executive management positions at main board level, having responsibility for international consultancy/service organisations embracing management, HR and IT consultancy. These positions also incorporated ultimate responsibility for large recruitment agency operations in the UK, Europe and USA.

Approximately twenty-two years ago, he decided to leave the international corporate career environment to work as an independent consultant in the management, HR and recruitment arenas. During this time he has conducted a wide variety of assignments for a significant number of organisations, both end users and suppliers.

He has been a regular public speaker and is particularly well known for his work advising and helping in excess of two hundred end user organisations in the procurement of management consultancy, software house and recruitment agency services and overseeing the setting up of formalised preferred supplier and managed service provider arrangements, to include acting as Chairman of many evaluation and selection panels.

He has also advised numerous commercial organisations (many have been FTSE100/250 companies), consultancies and recruitment agencies, small, medium and large, on various aspects of their modus operandi, specifically strategy, planning, finance, infrastructure, procurement, sales and marketing.

Additionally, he has advised many of the public utility companies, Government departments (to include Inland Revenue, DTI, Environment Agency, DSS) on various procurement exercises for consultancy and agency supplier selection, to include chairing or serving on their supplier selection panels.

He also works with and advises the trade bodies APSCO (Association of Professional Staffing Companies) and REC (Recruitment and Employment Confederation). For the past six years he has chaired the panel of judges for APSCO’s Annual Member Awards. He was also asked by the REC to act as a mentor in the deployment of the Government sponsored Recruitment Industry Enterprise Agency initiative.

During his corporate career, he variously served as Managing Director, Sales Director and Executive Vice President of several large management and IT/HR consultancies, with responsibility for operations in the UK, USA and Europe.

With his broad business knowledge and extensive contacts, Stephen has also been involved in advising numerous companies on acquisition, merger and company sale activities. He has been retained for several years by a major FTSE100 company to assist on acquisition and joint venture activities.
