Position:Principal Quality Engineer
To provide assurance that Engineering designs fully satisfy internal and external customer requirements and that all design activities are carried out in accordance with relevant design standards and procedures.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
*Working with Engineering to ensure that all design requirements are captured and embedded in design plans, specifications and test documents. This shall include any derived requirements necessary to achieve compliance with internal and external design standards for example Software Coding Standards, CE Markings etc.
*Working with Programme Managers and the Supply Chain Manager to ensure design requirements are communicated clearly to design subcontractors.
*Ensuring that an appropriate verification methodology has been established for each design requirement and that the corresponding verification evidence is available at the appropriate stages in product development.
*Verifying design baselines through Functional Configuration Audits (FCAs) and Physical Configuration Audits (PCAs) at the appropriate stages within the design lifecycle. The corresponding FCA and PCA reports shall be submitted as evidence for Preliminary and Critical Design Reviews.
*Ensuring that the consequential effects of designs changes are identified and that all required actions are recorded and implemented.
*Working with Design Engineering and Evaluation teams to develop Quality Control Test Instructions.
The Principal Quality Engineer must operate with integrity at all times, to provide a credible independent assurance function for engineering processes and activities.
*Must be able to objectively assess compliance to procedures and standards and provide professional assessments and reports.
*Must be able to analyse test data and information from audit reports to identify recurring issues and assist in the identification of long-term corrective actions.
*Mus be able to obtain UK security clearance.
