JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Summary
Reporting to the manufacturing engineering manager, this role will take responsibility of managing engineering releases and VPCRs for the department of assembly, test and trim. This role will manage and populate BIS / ELF statistics for the department and will also lead the powered tooling register.

Key Responsibilities

Support the manufacturing engineers with pending change and project improvements.

Provide data to the manufacturing engineering manager and senior engineers for the departments PQP projects.

Manage and maintain the powered tooling register, working closely with external contractors and internal stakeholders.

Take an active part in cross functional meetings, including design reviews, FMEAS, safety and quality meetings.

Support the department to implement improvements identified from LPA findings.


PERSON SPECIFICATION

Qualifications
Good basic schooling (English, Maths & Science) - Essential
HNC in mechanical / manufacturing engineering - Advantageous

Technical Skills
Excellent skills in Microsoft Office Suite - Essential
Experience of Assembly, Test & Trim - Advantageous
Knowledge of EASE (MDM and process planning) - Advantageous
Knowledge and understanding of IMS - Advantageous

Experience
Extensive product knowledge
Excellent computer literacy
Good knowledge of the assembly line and how change impacts cost, quality, delivery and safety

Competencies/Personal Attributes
Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
Ability to work in cross functional teams to achieve results.
Confidence in own ability.
Independence and ability to prioritise and complete tasks within a deadline.


Other (eg travel, physical demands)
This role will require regular access to the manufacturing areas and will require the use of powered tools
