Position: Quality Manager
Location:Greenford
Salary:£DoE

The Purpose of the Role:
The Quality Manager is a key role that ensures that the Quality Management System (QMS) is implemented throughout the Greenford site, is fit for purpose across all company functions and that approvals are maintained.

Responsibilities/Accountability:
The Quality Manager is Accountable for ensuring that:
*The site Quality Management System is fit for purpose, correctly implemented within their area of responsibility;
*Reporting is carried out as determined by the Business Quality Manager.
*Staff are proactively managed in accordance with company policies.

The Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring, within their area of responsibility, that:
*Quality objectives are deployed and communicated;
*The business is supported in maintaining its QMS 3rd party approval;
.

Duties/Tasks:
The main duties of the site Quality Manager will be:
*Maintenance, oversight and implementation of the QMS policies and procedures;
*Supporting the Business Quality Manager in implementation of the BMS Transition Project;
*Guidance and support to all staff, as to their discharging of their Quality responsibilities.
*Act as the site focal point for provision of Quality advice to projects and manufacturing, throughout the project / manufacturing life cycles;
*Planning, managing and hosting internal, supplier, customer and 3rd party audits;
*Reviewing of internal and external Quality documents for content and suitability, and advising affected staff appropriately;
*Review deliverable documentation;
*Assessment of suitability of contracted support within area of responsibility.
*Promoting Quality awareness in the business, providing bespoke training as required.
*Leading and supporting all aspects of Supplier QA activities.
*Assist the Quality Auditor in defining and conducting audits, including supplier audits, as part of the business's internal audit plan.

Supervisory Responsibility:
Line Manager for 2 Quality Engineers and 2 Quality Inspectors.


Education / Qualifications
Essential
*Degree in a relevant subject (Quality, Engineering or Computer Science) or equivalent Quality qualification/experience.
*Audit qualification or experience.

Knowledge Required
Engineering background
Essential
*Understanding of Quality systems
*Knowledge of the relevant Quality standards / legislation for electronics systems design
*Knowledge of engineering and project management lifecycles
*Knowledge of Quality Standards, ISO 9001, (ideally 2015), or AS9100, TS 16949.
*Knowledge of common defence standards, including DEF STAN 05-57, 05-61.

Practical Experience
Essential
*Experience of QA from defence, aerospace, automotive, nuclear, or similar sectors.
*Demonstrable experience of applying Quality practices and standards to system design.
*Experience of assessing Certificate of Conformity compliance documentation
*Experience of assessing and inputting to electronic system design to meet legislative and contractual Quality standards.
*Experience of team management
*Experience of acting as an independent member of a project team
