Meet The Team
Richard Powell, Director
Following a successful career as a Store Manager with the department store group House of Fraser I made a switch to the veterinary industry in 2005. My first role in the Veterinary world was recruiting new partners to open Vets4Pets practices. In 2010 I established Bright Leaf Recruitment and haven’t looked back since. I really enjoy getting to know my clients and candidates, many of whom either opened businesses or graduated as we opened. It’s really nice to see how we have all grown together. In 2014 Bright Leaf recruitment moved from a very cramped home office into a beautiful converted mill in Rural Halifax. We have already outgrown our first office and plan to move into a larger office in the same building in Summer 2015. Over the coming months and years I look forward to growing the Bright Leaf business further with my team of great people and of course, with Coco the office Black Lab ably assisting!
Louise Evans, Recruitment Consultant
I recently joined Bright as a Recruitment Consultant. Whilst this is my first position in a pure recruitment role, I have hired many team members in my previous role as Territory Sales Manager with The Halifax Courier and The Yorkshire Post. I therefore know how important the right person in the right job is. One of my key interests is developing relationships with my own candidates and clients. Outside the office I am a keen walker, skier and enjoy travelling around Europe in “Norbert” our motor home. I enjoy exotic pets (not spiders…) and have a two year old Royal Python called Manasa.
Steph Ward, Locum Administrator
I’m really pleased to be part of the Bright Leaf team. In the office I look after the numerous locum vacancies and locum candidates we have. Prior to joining Bright Leaf I worked in the travel events industry for ten years. I really enjoy working in a small, friendly team. Outside work I volunteer work for MacMillan and Overgate Hospice, a local hospice that relies totally on charitable contributions. I also help out where I can at the local primary school where my daughter attends. I have six fish named after the strictly judges and Elsa and Anna from Frozen – my daughters choice…
